ChI: One can agree with CBA head given that Armenia has no economy
Chairman of the Central Bank of Armenia (CBA) Arthur Javadyan said whn commenting on the Armenian dram depreciation that “the shock was from outside, and what has happened is beyond the scope of economics”.
Economist Vahagn Khachatryan who is a member of the board of the Armenian National Congress (HAK) Party, told ‘Chorrord Ishkhanutyun’ paper that one can agree with CBA chairman in one case – “if we take into account that there is no economy in Armenia”.
In his words, what happened is a predictable phenomenon. “Armenia greatly depends on remittances from Russia. These sums are almost equal to the budget,” he said.
