Human trafficking charges brought against 2 Chinese citizens in Armenia
The Main Department for Cases of Special Importance at Armenia’s Investigative Committee opened a criminal case against two Chinese citizens involved in human trafficking in Armenia, the press service of Investigative Committee reported.
According to investigators, in October 2014 two Chinese citizens – on the pretext of giving high-paid jobs as masseuses in Armenia and Georgia - brought four female citizens of China to Yerevan for their sexual exploitation. The women were kept in a hotel complex of Yerevan and sexually exploited until December 9.
A criminal case was opened on December 10 under the Armenian Criminal Code’s Article 132 part 2 points 1 and 2. The two Chinese men were detained on the same day.
