Prosecutor general: Assailant of Manukyan didn’t commit grave crime
The man who was detained on suspicion of making an attack on Armenian MP Aram Manukyan has been released on his own recognizance because, according to the relevant body, he did not commit a grave crime, Armenian Prosecutor General Gevorg Kostanyan told journalists.
“Investigators will establish the reason. Regardless of motives, battering is a crime,” Kostanyan noted.
The secretary of ‘Armenian National Congress’ (HAK) opposition faction Aram Manukyan was assaulted last week. Arshak Svazyan, 41, was detained on Sunday on suspicion of assaulting A. Manukyan. He was released on his own recognizance today.
