S. Truzyan denies reports about special investigator’s arrest
Sona Truzyan, advisor to the chairman of Armenia’s Investigative Committee, posted a Facebook statement denying the reports of a media outlet about the arrest of an investigator of Investigative Committee’s Department for Cases of Special Importance.
“Respected reporters. I‘d like to explain that none of the investigators of the Department for Cases of Special Importance was arrested. An investigation is underway against an investigator of a garrison of the Main Military Investigative Department. He was summoned for questioning this morning. Information about the criminal case may be provided by the body that carries out the proceedings. I can only say that the matter concerns a fraud that is not related directly to performance of his official duties.
The investigative Committee set the exacting requirement for its employees to strictly observe the rules of conduct and the principle of legality. Criminal manifestations are especially inadmissible. We hope that the body carrying out the proceedings will conduct a comprehensive and objective investigation into the criminal case and give an adequate assessment of everyone’s actions,” Sona Truzyan wrote.
