Former President George HW Bush hospitalized
Former U.S. President George H.W. Bush was taken by ambulance to the Houston Methodist Hospital as a precaution after experiencing a shortness of breath Tuesday, his spokesman said.
The former president, age 90, will be held for observation, again as a precaution, Bush spokesman Jim McGrath said.
Houston Methodist is the same hospital where Bush spent nearly two months for a bronchitis-related cough and other health issues before he was released in January 2013 after treatment.
"The President has been made aware that President Bush was admitted to the hospital. President Obama and the First Lady send their good wishes to the former President and the entire Bush family during this holiday season," White House Spokesperson Eric Schultz said in a statement.
