Criminal case filed over sale of pork unfit for consumption
The Yerevan City Investigation Department of Armenia’s Investigative Committee opened a criminal case over the sale of pork unfit for consumption. The case was filed under Article 212 part 2 point 1 of the Criminal Code, according to the press service of Investigative Committee.
Investigators established that on December 20, 2014 citizen Petrosyan bought pork from a pig farm located next to the mental clinic in Nubarashen neighborhood.
Petrosyan misled consumers by selling 235.3 kilograms of pork from pigs killed in a state of agony to a meat supplier.
An investigation is underway.
The pork was earlier removed from shelves of Yerevan stores by the State Food Safety Service of Armenian Agriculture Ministry.
