Russia to allocate $270M to Armenia to extend ANPP service life
The Russian government approved the allocation of $270 million to Armenia for extending the service life of the Armenian Nuclear Power Plant (ANPP), Rosbalt news agency reported citing the government website.
“By the draft order, a state export credit of up to $270 million shall be provided to Armenia for a period of up to 15 years to finance the work on extending the service life of the Metsmaor nuclear power plant in Armenia,” the statement says.
Russia and Armenia earlier signed an intergovernmental agreement on cooperation concerning the extension of the service life of the second unit of ANPP. The sides agreed that the work will be financed with a credit allocated by Russia to Armenia.
