Serzh Sargsyan: Armenia has enough reserves

Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan attended today a reception held in the Central Bank of Armenia (CBA) on the occasion of the New Year and Christmas. The president congratulated the employees of CBA and the banking system and their families on the New Year and wished good health, success and happiness to them and peace to our country, according to the presidential press service.

In his speech, President Sargsyan also spoke about the recent developments in the currency market, their impact on the economy, the successful measures taken in this connection, and the further programs.

The president said that Armenia has enough reserves, will and desire in order to prevent financial instability in the country.  He attached importance to joint efforts to overcome challenges in a difficult situation. S. Sargsyan reminded those present of the efficient activities of Armenia’s banking system during the previous crisis when serious problems arose in the banking systems of some countries.

Serzh Sargsyan stressed there are all the opportunities today to solve the existing problems and ensure financial stability.
