Charges brought in Yeghvard kindergarten poisoning case
The investigation into a criminal case by Kotayk Regional Investigation Department of Armenia’s Investigative Committee found that failure to observe the sanitary and hygienic norms was the cause of mass poisoning in a kindergarten of the city of Yeghvard.
Investigative Committee said that the norms prescribed by the Law on Sanitary and Epidemiological Security of the Population were not observed at the kindergarten, no sanitary-hygienic and anti-epidemic measures were taken to eliminate environment pollution, improve living conditions and prevent the start and spread of diseases.
The anti-sanitary conditions at kindergarten No 1 contributed to the impact of negative factors on the human organism and led to mass poisoning of kindergarten pupils and staff and those who had contact with them.
The investigator took a decision to bring charges against A. Manukyan, director of Yeghvard kindergarten No 1, and N. Arakelyan, a nurse, under the Criminal Code’s article on the violation of sanitary and anti-epidemic rules resulting in mass illness or poisoning by negligence.
