Russian soldier suspected of fatally shooting family of six in Gyumri
A soldier of the Russian 102nd military unit is suspected of killing six members of a family in the Armenian city of Gyumri. The suspect is serviceman Valery Permyakov, according to Sona Truzyan, advisor to the Chairman of Armenia’s Investigative Committee.
“During a search of the Avetisyans’ house, investigators found combat boots with the name “Valery Permyakov” written on the inner side. Permyakov is a serviceman of the Russian military unit. The murders were committed with an AK-74 rifle,” Trusyan said.
Police are looking for the suspect.
By an order of Armenian Police Chief Vladimir Gasparyan, an operational investigative group has been set up. It is led by Deputy Police Chief Hunan Poghosyan.
Meanwhile, Chairman of ‘Asparez’ Club of Journalists Levon Barseghyan wrote on Facebook that the commander of the Russian 102nd military base Colonel Andrey Ruzinski visited the house where the family was shot down.
The suspect’s personal records were also posted on Facebook, according to which V. Permaykov serves in the 1st tank company of the tank battalion.
As was reported earlier, six members of the family, including a two-year-old child, were killed. A six-month old child of the same family was hospitalized in critical condition and underwent surgery.
