Gyumri shooting suspect wanted by police, photo released

Valery Permyakov, a serviceman of the Russian military base in Armenia, is wanted by the Armenian police. He is suspected of fatally shooting a family of six in the city of Gyumri.

As was reported earlier, six members of a family, including a two-year-old child, were shot down today. A six-month-old baby from the same family was hospitalized in extremely grave condition. 

The serviceman of the Russian 102nd  military base is suspected of the crime.

On Monday Valery Permyakov left his military unit without permission, according to Sona Truzyan, advisor to the head of Armenia’s Investigative Committee.

“At Avetsians’ house, investigators found a pair of combat boots with the name  of Valery Permyakov, who is a soldier of the Russian base, written on the inner side. The murders were committed with an AK-74 rifle,” Sona Truzyan said.
