Haykakan Zhamanak: Ruling party to issue statement on Gyumri events

The head of the parliamentary faction of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) Vahram Baghdasaryan told ‘Haykakan Zhamanak’ daily that the Gyumri events were discussed at the sitting of the party’s supreme body yesterday. A statement is expected.

“Everything is done so that the trial will be held here. Everything is on a legal plane. All those in power, all citizens want it. I think a relevant statement will be issued. The prosecutor already made a statement, but the final statement rests with him,” Baghdasaryan said. 

In his words, Armenian and Russian investigators should do joint work so that “everything will be in accordance with our laws and in Armenia”.

When asked if Valery Permyakov will serve his sentence in Armenia, V. Baghdasaryan replied: “Work is being done in that direction, statements will be made”.
