Discipline to be tightened at Russian 102nd military base
Gyumri Mayor Samvel Balasanyan held a consultation on January 18 with the participation of Acting Commander of Russian border troops in Armenia S. Merzlikin, Commander of the Russian 102nd military base A. Ruzinsky, and Deputy Police Chief of Armenia’s Shirak province A. Grigoryan, according to the website of the Gyumri municipality.
The consultation participants discussed measures aimed at easing the tension and avoiding unnecessary speculation and provocative moods.
The Russian side received proposals to tighten internal discipline, establish control, do explanatory work, and in case of any problems – to promptly inform the relevant bodies and the Gyumri Municipality.
The Russian side said they accept the proposals of Mayor Samvel Balasanyan and are prepared to tighten control and take measures to deal with those issues.
