Haykakan Zhamanak: No change in VAT on imports
Armenian Economy Minister Karen Chshmarityan and Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Economic Affairs Vardan Aivazyan said last October that at the border, no VAT would be levied on goods imported from Eurasian Economic Union (EAU) countries.
“Yesterday Deputy Finance Minister Vardan Mirumyan dispelled all enthusiasm. VA will not be levied at the border on goods imported from EEU member countries. An importer has to pay that sum before the 20th of the following month in case of importing goods. That is, 10 days will be extended to 50 days,” Mirumyan noted. In other words, nothing has changed,” ‘Haykakan Zhamanak’ writes.
