CBA decision is wrong, Tatul Manaseryan says
The decision taken by the Central Bank of Armenia (CBA) is a wrong recipe to avoid the crisis, economist Tatul Manaseryan told reporters when commenting on CBA’s decision about a six-fold increase in banks’ authorized capital by 2017. The minimum amount of capital has been raised from 5 to 30 billion drams.
“The main purpose of the decision is to ensure stability and manageability of the financial system, but the realization of these goals depends on the whole economy, not only on the Central Bank,” he noted
T. Manaseryan expressed concern over the efficiency of risk management and the banks’ assistance of economic development.
