Controversial clause of turnover tax law postponed until July 1
The Armenian parliament has adopted an amendment to the Law on Turnover Tax. By the amendment initiated by the government, the introduction of the requirement that small and medium businesses shall provide documentation on commodity purchases has been postponed until July 1, 2015. 75 parliamentary deputies voted for the amendment, with one vote against and 40 abstentions.
Prosperous Armenia (BHK) faction abstained in the vote as it believes that drastic changes in the sphere, rather than the law’s postponement, are necessary. Orinats Yerkir (OEK), Heritage, and Armenian National Congress (HAK) factions also abstained. ARF-Dashnaktsutyun and Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) factions voted in favor.
