Protest in support of Artak Khachatryan underway at Armenian government
A protest is underway outside the Armenian government. The participants demand that those who used violence against civil activist, member of Prosperous Armenia Party’s (BHK) political council Artak Khachatryan should be found and punished.
Members of BHK parliamentary faction Vartan Oskanyan and Vahan Babayan are among the protesters.
As was reported, Armenia’s Investigative Committee opened a criminal case based on information that on the afternoon of February 7 a group of people abducted Artak Khachatryan by using violence. Investigative and operational-search actions are being taken to reveal all the circumstances of the incident.
On February 7 Artak Khachatryan, an active participant in rallies against the introduction of the new law on turnover tax, was taken home after he was beaten up.
