Investigative Committee: Artak Khachatryan recognized as aggrieved party
The investigative unit of Kentron and Nork Marash districts of Yerevan’s Investigative Department is conducting an investigation into the criminal case of the kidnapping of Artak Khachatryan, a civil activist, member of Prosperous Armenia Party’s (BHK) political council, the press service of Armenia’s Investigative Committee (IC) reported.
“Taking into account the broad public interest, we announce that Artak Khachatryan was recognized as an aggrieved party and today the investigator went to the medical center to question him as an aggrieved party (doctors said that earlier he was unable to give evidence because of his health condition).
The appropriate police units were instructed to establish whether there are security cameras near Tsghotner entertainment center and if so, to submit the videos to the preliminary investigation body,” IC said in a statement.
According to materials of the criminal case, around noon on February 7, a group of men kidnapped Artak Khachatryan from the Tsghotner entertainment center on Tolstoy Street in Yerevan.
A criminal case was opened over his kidnapping. An investigation is underway to reveal the circumstances of the crime and the identities of those who committed the crime.
