Demonstrators march towards Armenian police office
After demonstrating outside the Armenian government today, protesters marched towards the Armenian police office to demand that those who committed violence against civil activist, member of Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK) political council Artak Khachatryan be found and punished.
Members of BHK parliamentary faction Vartan Oskanyan, Vahan Babayan and Ms. Naira Zohrabyan, and deputy of HAK faction Aram Manukyan are among the protest participants.
Armenia’s Investigative Committee earlier opened a criminal case based on information that on the afternoon of February 7 a group of people used violence to abduct Artak Khachatryan. Investigative and operational-search actions have been taken to reveal all the circumstances of the incident.
As was reported, on February 7 Artak Khachatryan, an active participant in rallies against the introduction of the new law on turnover tax, was taken home after he was beaten up.
