Legal successors demand handover of Permyakov to Armenian law enforcers
The relatives of the Avetisyan family murdered in Gyumri on January 12, 2015, demand that the Russian side should hand over Valery Permyakov to Armenian law enforcers, Avetisyan’s daughter – Lusine Avetisyan said at a press conference today.
“I have demanded Permaykov’s handover to Armenian law enforcers since the very beginning,” she stated.
Lawyer Yerem Sargsyan who represents the interests of the Avetisyans’ legal successors said for his part that their demand is that the preliminary investigation body conduct a fast and efficient investigation into the case, in particular, open a criminal case over Permyakov’s attempt to illegally cross the Armenian border, which will increase the chance of Permyakov’s transfer to Armenian law enforcement agencies.
According to the lawyer, the law’s clause, quoted by the Russian side that refuses to hand over Permyakov to Armenian law enforcers, is left to the discretion of the sides.
When asked what steps will be taken, the legal successors said that this evening they would discuss their further steps concerning their application to Armenian Prosecutor General’s Office.
