Y. Zakharyan visits Germany, discusses 400 kW transmission line project
During his visit to Germany, Armenian Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Yervand Zakharyan met on February 27 with member of the board of German KfW Bank Roland Ziller and KfW Regional Director for Eastern Europe, the Caucasus and Central Asia Eva Vitt, according to the press office of the ministry.
Issues related to the implementation of the programs funded by KfW, in particular the construction project of Armenia-Georgia 400 kW power transmission line, were discussed at the meeting.
The interlocutors stressed the importance of the 400 kW transmission liner’s construction in terms of integration of regional electrical systems. The purpose of the program is to connect the energy systems of Armenia and Georgia through a power station located in Ayrum near the border with Georgia.
The construction of that power line will promote mutually beneficial regional cooperation in energy sector and create preconditions for organizing parallel work of electric power systems of CIS countries.
