Criminal case against Arsen Baghdasaryan sent to Azerbaijani court
Military Prosecutor’s Office of Azerbaijan sent a criminal case against Armenian serviceman Arsen Baghdasaryan to a court. A. Baghdasaryan has been charged under several articles of Azerbaijan’s Criminal Code, APA news agency reported.
In mid-February 2015, arrest was chosen as a measure of restraint against A. Baghdasaryan who was detained in late December 2014.
Investigators allegedly found that Arsen Baghdasaryan crossed the Line of Contact and mined the area. Yet Azerbaijan said in January that A. Baghdasaryan voluntarily crossed the Line of Contact and declared that he wanted to be sent to a third country.
According to Defense Ministry of Nagorno Karabakh, Baghdasaryan is a contract serviceman who left his military unit without permission several times, due to which he was suspended from service.
