Nalbandian, Özdemir discuss Armenia-EU relations
Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian on Friday received the delegation led by Cem Özdemir, member of the German Bundestag, co-chairman of the Alliance ’90/The Greens party.
Minister Nalbandian praised Armenian-German relations and attached importance to active cooperation between the two countries’ parliamentarians and frequent mutual visits, the Armenian Foreign Ministry’s press service reported.
Thanking for the warm welcome, Cem Özdemir noted that this is his first visit to Armenia and it is symbolic that the visit is taking place on the eve of the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.
The Armenian Foreign Minister briefed the guest on the Genocide commemoration events to be held in Armenia and abroad.
Edward Nalbandian and Cem Özdemir exchanged views on Armenia-European Union relations and the prospects for their development.
The Armenian FM presented Armenia’s position on the regional problems.
Urgent international and regional issues were also discussed. In this context, Minister Nalbandian presented the joint efforts of Armenia and the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs towards the peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
