Art meets Technology at Tumo on April 25 in two events
The day after the centennial of the Armenian Genocide, on April 25, two parallel events celebrating technology and Armenian music will take place at Tumo, with the participation of board members Raffi Krikorian and Serj Tankian, and other industry experts.
The HIVE engineering leadership summit, sponsored by the Hovnanian Foundation, will include Tumo board member and former Twitter VP Raffi Krikorian, Reddit founder and Executive Chair Alexis Ohanian and other industry experts as speakers. The event will bring together software engineers and programmers for talks, an interactive workshop and chance to have one-on-one networking meetings with speakers to share experiences between world renowned technology leaders and local experts.
On the same day, a Musical Town Hall Meeting will also take place with System of a Down vocalist Serj Tankian as the lead panelist. Composer Tigran Mansuryan, jazz musician Tigran Hamasyan and other notable musicians will also participate in a town hall meeting where leading artists and composers will discuss new approaches to Armenian music following the Centennial. The panelists will play representative tracks as discussion starters, and participants will have a chance to ask questions around the theme of music as a reflection of Armenian identity.
Participants in both events will have a chance to mingle during a common lunch, fostering the kind of interaction between art and technology that is one of the hallmarks of the Tumo program.
