World Media about Kim Kardashian and Armenian Genocide
Daily Mail. Royal welcome! Kim Kardashian, Kanye West and Khloe arrive in Armenia to a cheering crowd and chaotic scenes
Kim Kardashian, Kanye West and Khloe touched down in Armenia on Wednesday with a huge cheering crowd awaiting their arrival.
As the reality star and her rapper husband made their way through the arrival gate at Zvartnots International Airport they were greeted by a mass of people in scenes that soon turned chaotic.
Kim, 34, could be seen in large dark sunglasses as she lead the way in front of her sister and spouse who cradled 22-month-old daughter North.
Part of the impressive royal welcome included women in traditional Armenian dress offering bread and salt - a tradition for greeting dignitaries.
Khloe, 30, who is now nearly as blonde as her older sister was last month, was also spotted entering the arrivals area walking closely behind Kim.
Once outside the terminal the reality stars left in a minivan together and were protected by police officers who helped control fans who had rushed to catch a glimpse of the stars.
Though the Kardashian clan were said to be visiting the country to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, the reality star's rep has since denied any connection.
Kim has said she simply wanted to get in touch with her Armenian roots.
Her late father Robert Kardashian was of Armenian-American descent, so the trip to Yerevan will mark an important pilgrimage for the famous family.
The family were later seen hopping out of a minivan in the country capital of Yerevan where they headed into a Marriott hotel.
Khloe was awestruck at the number of people who had gathered outside the hotel and captioned a snap of the scene on her Instagram: 'The love and welcoming to Armenia has been overwhelmingly beautiful!!! I wholeheartedly, can't believe all of you Angels who are outside our hotel with flowers and smiles.
'Im incredibly eager to get some sleep and see Armenia in the day light! I hope I'm able to sleep. I'm so excited to be here!!'
A source told Us weekly that the entire clan apart from Kendall Jenner will be flying out there this week.
On Tuesday Kim, Kanye and their daughter were seen making their way through LAX ahead of the long journey.
Kim displayed long dark locks having transformed her look once again, back to a more natural style after her brief stint with platinum blonde locks.
On the eight day trip the family plans to visit the genocide monument, museums, meet with politicians and reportedly travel to the town of Gyumri... where relatives of Kim's dad may live.
E! cameras are said to be capturing all the activities for their TV show Keeping Up With The Kardashians.

Eonline. 8 Things the Kardashians Have to Do on Their Trip to Armenia
Have you heard? The Kardashians have descended on Armenia. Who are we kidding—of course you've heard. The family's arrival was the plane landing heard 'round the world. Kim, Khloe, Kanye and North have arrived and life for Armenians will never the same.
A trip as legendary as this homecoming deserves an equally legendary itinerary. Now we know that the Kardashians have all sorts of resources at their disposal (wealth, connections, limitless spray tan solution) but we figured it wouldn't hurt if we threw out a few suggestions.
So without further ado, here are our suggestions for the Kardashian gang.
1. Visit the Tsitsernakaberd Memorial. This museum, which chronicles the plight of the Armenian genocide—a topic Kim cares about and has spoken about—is one of the most important landmarks in the country.
2. Take a selfie at Mount Ararat, the peak where Noah's Ark supposedly landed. Because that would be one legendary photo opp.
3. Stop for a sushi lunch. There's a Katsuya outpost in Armenia, right? Sugarfish maybe?
4. Knock out the daily waist training regimen while on a tour of the country's many monasteries. Just because you're on vacation doesn't mean you can have a cheat day.
5. Stop by the Balmain pop-up at the Dalma Garden Mall, Armenia's first major shopping center. We're pretty sure Olivier Rousteing got the memo to be ready for them.
6. Hit a neighborhood chess match. The challenging game is highly popular in Armenia, and it would be an excellent opportunity to not only get to know the locals.
7. Get a spray tan. We can't recommend an exact location, since as we mentioned we haven't been to Armenia, but we're pretty sure the Kards have some sort of sixth sense that directs them to the nearest salon.
8. Be very careful when signing any guest books while sightseeing. We don't need another Bieber fiasco on our hands.

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are visiting Kim's ancestral home of Armenia this week. Along with their daughter North and the rest of the Kardashian clan, the couple are visiting the country to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the mass murder of ethnic Armenians in Yerevan.
Kardashian's late father Robert Kardashian was of Armenian-American descent and considering this will be the first time that any of the Kardashian siblings have travelled to Armenia, they will no doubt want to explore every aspect of its culture across their eight-day long trip.
IBTimes UK have put together a list of 10 things the Kardashians might want to get up to during their fleeting visit.
10. The National Art Gallery
This particular gallery is the country's largest art museum in the Republic Of Armenia and is located on another popular tourist site, Yerevan's Republic Square. Whilst the gallery contains mainly Armenian art, it also features examples from Ancient Egypt, Greece, Rome and Iran. The slightly more contemporary ceramic collections include pieces from Japan, China, Italy, Austria and Germany.
9. Kami Club
The relatively small, but hugely praised Kami Club offers visitors an interesting place to have a drink and a dance, to the background music of local bands and DJs. It also serves recommended food. The Kardashians love a good party so this should suit the family members visiting quite nicely!
8. Water World
Whilst the previous suggestion was more suited to the older guests within the Kardashian group, this one should please North, Mason and co. down to the ground. Water World is a small water park aimed at children and teenagers, situated in the capital of Armenia. If the family opt to give their children a break from learning about their ancestry, making use of Water World's slides and pools might just be all that they need.
7. Saint Gregory The Illuminator Cathedral
The Saint Gregory the Illuminator Cathedral, also known as the Cathedral of Yerevan is currently the largest cathedral of the Armenian Apostolic Church in the world, effectively making it the largest Armenian cathedral. It is considered to be one of the largest religious buildings in theSouth Caucasus along with the Holy Trinity Cathedral of Tbilisi (known as the Sameba Cathedral). Adjacent to the General Andranik metro station, it's visible from the numerous corners of Yerevan.
6. Lake Sevan
Whilst Armenia may not have beaches to boast of, Lake Sevan's picturesque combination of grassy land and vast open waters might just make up for it. The largest lake in Armenia, the location is also one of the largest high-altitude freshwater lakes in the world.
5. Vernissage Market
This 350m market lies between the Aram and Buzand streets and mainly features a collection of traditional Armenian artwork being sold.
4. State Museum of Armenian History
This place might be worth a visit from the family just to get an idea of the history behind the country they are spending some time in.
3. The Monastery Of Geghard
Labelled as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Geghard is a medieval monastery partially carved out of the adjacent mountain. The cliffs that tower the monastery are part of the Azat River gorge and are also a part of their World Heritage Site label. Having been carved from the mountains, some of the churches within the sacred place look like nothing more than caves whereas others are elaborately designed. Most visitors to Geghard also choose to visit the nearby the pagan Temple of Garni, located further down the Azat River.
2. Northern Avenue
The appropriately named place of interest for the Kardashian's visit, Northern Avenue is located in the heart of Yerevan, Armenia's capital. First opened in 2007, the avenue is slowly becoming the country's shopping hub and is home to some elite brands in its stores. We all know the Kardashians are interested in fashion, so they might love the unique looks Northern Avenue has to offer!
1. The Singing Fountains
Something that everyone in the vacationing group should enjoy are The Singing Fountains. Running from early spring to late summer, a combination of a light and water display goes on at the main fountains outside Republic Square. This event takes place each evening and is often carried out to the background noise of jazz, classical and contemporary rock and pop music.

The Telegraph. Keeping Up With The Kardashians... in Armenia - why is Kim Kardashian there?
American reality TV star and businesswoman Kim Kardashian West, loved for her Instagram selfies and her family's exploits, has arrived in the Armenian capital.
The star of E! TV show Keeping Up With The Kardashians has gone to Yerevan with her family including her husband Kanye West and daughter North West.
It is the first time she has gone to Armenia and it is believed they will stay in the country for eight days.
Khloe Kardashian, her younger sister and a star of the show, is also with the family who flew to Yerevan on Wednesday.
But other members including Kourtney Kardashian, Kris Jenner, Kylie Jenner and Scott Disick, were not with them but they are believed to also be heading to the city. However, there were reports model Kendall Jenner would not be joining the family.
They have gone to Armenia ahead of the 100th anniversary of the Armenian genocide on April 24 during which up to 1.5 million Armenians were killed by the Ottoman Empire.
What's the link between Armenia and the Kardashians?
Before the Vogue front cover and the obsession with her derrière, it was actually the Kardashians' father who was more famous than his children and ex-wife Kris Jenner.
The late Robert Kardashian was OJ Simpson's lawyer during the murder trial in 1995 and also a friend of the sportsman.
And it is the senior Kardashian who is of Armenian descent (a third-generation Armenian American) - his parents moved to America from Armenia. As individuals with Armenian heritage, his children have publicly urged their fans to remember the genocide, including Kim Kardashian herself.
Turkey does not recognise the massacre as a genocide but Kim has repeatedly urged the US to recognise the massacres as a genocide.
“...it’s not history. Until this crime is resolved truthfully and fairly, the Armenian people will live with the pain of what happened to their families and the fear of what might happen again to their homeland.
"So out of respect for all those innocent people that died, I’m putting a spotlight on it today.
"Today, thousands of Armenians will come together in Los Angeles to protest against the denial of the genocide and urge the United States government to recognise the Armenian genocide."
What will the Kardashians be up to in Armenia?
Although the Kardashians have arrived earlier than the anniversary events begin, the family plan to visit a vast complex that commemorates the victims in the capital, Associated Press reported.
They will be filming for their TV show as well to document their pilgrimage and many hope their visit will draw attention to the events of 1915.
Us magazine reported that a source told their reporter that the family wanted to get to know Armenia.
“They’re going to film some parts of it but they’re also going to spend a lot of time there off camera and really getting to know the country,” the source said.
According to AFP, an organiser of the trip said she plans to work on a documentary film about the mass killings as well as visiting the National Archives to look at documents relating to her ancestors.
The Kardashians will also go to Gyumri where her distant relatives live, the news agency reported.
What happened on April 1915 and during the Armenian genocide?
Armenians say the genocide began when intellectuals - numbering around 250 - were arrested by Ottoman security forces on April 24 and continued during the First World War.
But Turkey has said that the term genocide does not apply to the massacresand the Turkish foreign ministry also disputes the figure killed. Up to 1.5 million Armenians were killed but Turkey believes that the figure is too high and more likely to be 300,000 to 600,000.
