World famous conductor and violinist Vladimir Spivakov, who is a great friend of the Armenian people, arrived in Armenia on Sunday. The maestro came to Armenia to share the Armenian people’s pain.
The National Philharmonic of Russia under baton of Vladimir Spivakov will hold concerts in Armenia on April 14, 15 and 16 to commemorate Armenian Genocide centenary.
According to the press service of State Youth Orchestra of Armenia, when asked by reporters about his position on the Armenian Genocide at Zvartnots Airport on Sunday, Spivakov said that his arrival reaffirms his position. “I came to Armenia so what do you think my position is?”
In response to the remark that not all countries have recognized the Armenian Genocide, he said, “It is their problem. Not the entire world failed to recognize. The Pope recognized the fact of the Genocide. I believe this is a very serious story that will have far reaching consequences. Russia has also recognized.”
