200-300 Genocide survivor-manuscripts restored in last 20 years
Three hundred manuscripts restored over the last 20 years are manuscripts that survived the Armenian Genocide, Gayane Eliazyan, Head of the Restoration Department, Mesrop Mashtots Institute of Ancient Manuscripts (Matenadaran), told reporters on Tuesday.
“Manuscripts are scattered throughout the world – Jerusalem, Syria, Vienna, Saint Lazarus Island, Berlin National Library, London National Library. Armenians that survived the Genocide took the manuscripts along with them,” she said.
Matenadaran is hosting the ‘Revived culture’ international conference marking the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.
