Yerevan hosts electronic diplomacy conference
Under the support of the European Union, the Diplomatic School of Armenia on Monday opened an international conference on digital diplomacy in Yerevan.
Over 60 participants, including directors of diplomatic institutes, foreign ambassadors and department heads from different countries’ foreign ministries, gathered together at the event to discuss the developments and challenges in the sector.
Greeting the attendees, Director of the School, Ambassador Vahe Gabrielyan said the school launched the initiative in an effort to promote international discussions on digital diplomacy among scholars and practicing diplomats.
He noted with satisfaction that in the past five years since its inception, the school managed to train highly reputable graduates most of whom have joined the diplomatic corps of Armenia.
The conference, entitled “Prospects and Challenges of Digital Diplomacy”, is a four-day event dedicated to the school’s fifth anniversary.
The Diplomatic School of Armenia was established in 2010 to train future and practicing diplomats, as well employees of different government agencies’ external relations departments.
