Armenia’s agriculture minister conducts meetings in Rome
As part of his working visit to Rome, Italy, Armenia’s minister of agriculture conducted meetings with counterparts and other government officials from different countries.
Sergo Karapetyan particularly had private talks with Georgian and Iranian Ministers of Agriculture Otar Danelia and Mahmoud Hojjati, Italian Minister of Agriculture, Food and Forestry Maurizio Martina, and other participants of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization’s (FAO) 39th session. Issues of mutual interest were discussed at the meetings.
According to a press release by the Ministry of Agriculture, Mr Karapetyan was invited by his Georgian counterpart to conduct a visit to the country. At the talks with the Islamic Republic’s minister of agriculture, the Armenian official reiterated his earlier invitation to Mr Hojati to visit Armenia.
The FAO 39th session re-elected José Graziano da Silva its director-general.
On behalf of the president and prime minister of Armenia, Minister Karapetyan congratulated the official on re-taking office and invited him to visit Armenia. Mr da Silva accepted the invitation.
