Taj Mahal Gets Free Wi-Fi
It's now possible to post that Taj Mahal selfie right away without eating into your data plan. ABC News reports.
When tourists visit India and marvel at the majesty of the 17th century mausoleum and its white marble, they'll also be able to take advantage of a modern perk at the site -- free Wi-Fi.
Ravi Shankar Prasad, India's information minister, announced the new Wi-Fi service on Twitter this week, which will give Taj Mahal visitors free Wi-Fi for 30 minutes, after which they will be charged a fee.
Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), a state-run telecommunications company, will be providing the free connectivity to visitors, according to Prasad's tweet.
The number of engaged online users has continued to grow in India, with many people getting online via low cost Android devices.
