Apricots fail to reach Moscow
Moscow-based Armenians told the Zhoghovurd newspaper that they had been promised Armenian apricots from June 20.
There are doubts that the apricots being exported to Russia reached Armenia’s border were detained there despite official reports that Armenia’s apricot exports - primarily to Russia - have reached 2,500 tons.
To verify the reports, the newspaper applies to the State Food Safety Service. According to the official information, the Service did not detain any consignment either at the Bavra or at the Bagratashen checkpoints. One could think the demand for apricots is so great in Russia that the entire amount runs out before the cargo reaches Russia’s capital.
