Armenian parliament official slams Azerbaijan’s belligerence
The vice speaker of Armenia’s National Assembly slammed Azerbaijan’s belligerent rhetoric on Nagorno-Karabakh as he met with Belarus’s top parliament official in the country’s capital, Minsk.
Eduard Sharmazanov condemned Azerbaijan’s desire to reach a military solution to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, considering such a behavior impermissible and unfriendly. For his part, the speaker of the Belarusian National Assembly’s House of Representatives, Vladimir Andreychenko, reaffirmed his country’s supports to an exclusively peaceful settlement of the land dispute, citing the OSCE Minsk Group-mediated talks as an effective format to promote peace.
The Armenian delegation, which started the visit to Belarus earlier on Monday, includes the parliament members Tatshat Vardapetyan (Republican faction), Gagik Melikyan (Republican) and Artsvik Minasyan (ARF-D).
