Armenian president hosts IMF official

Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan on Monday received Masood Ahmed, the director of the International Monetary Fund’s (IMF) Middle East and Central Asia Department.

Greeting the guests and highly appreciating the IMF’s activities in Armenia, the president said that the cooperation helped implement many joint programs to promote the country’s economic progress, reports the presidential press service.

Sargsyan highlighted the IMF Executive Board’s decision to confirm the extension of the funding program’s revised outcomes. The president said that its smooth course not only facilitates acquisition of the financial resources’ share but also ensures the continuity of the effective reforms.

The IMF official, for his part, highly praised the Fund’s cooperation with Armenia, promising to offer its best practices and expertise to resolve the existing problems.
