Prince Williams flies budget airline to Scotland for ambulance training
When Ryanair passengers boarded the noon flight from Stansted to Glasgow, they found themselves in rather esteemed company.
For taking his seat alongside them on the budget airline was Prince William.
The 33-year-old prince was travelling to Scotland from his Norfolk home as part of his training to fly with the East Anglian Air Ambulance, reports the Daily Mail.
The prince, wearing glasses and casually dressed in a navy blue jumper, pale shirt and trousers, was believed to have been accompanied by only one bodyguard during the flight last month.
It had been revealed days earlier that William took a helicopter from Highgrove to Windsor – only 90 minutes by car – to attend an event marking the 800th anniversary of Magna Carta.
Prince William took unpaid leave in April, following the first phase of his training with East Anglian Air Ambulance, to spend time with his new daughter.
He previously served in the Royal Air Force, most recently as a search and rescue pilot.
In late May, it was reported how he was in the closing stages of his training to be a pilot with the ambulance team, enabling him to take up a new role transporting patients to hospital.
