It’s quite possible that Artsvik Minasyan will head the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs
Minister of Education and Science Armen Ashotyan is expected to be appointed the secretary of Armenia’s National Security Council in less than a month, "Haykakan zhamanak" has learned.
Citing its sources, the paper claims that Levon Mkrtchyan, a member of the opposition Armenian Revolutionary Federation-Dashnaksutyun (ARF-D) who formerly held the post, is going to replace Ashotyan at the Ministry.
The main question which for now remains open is whether Mkrtchyan will assume the ministerial portfolio as a result of the ARF-D’s possible move to join the coalition government or the decision to appoint him will be made internally.
Should the ARF-D join the coalition government, it will in most likelihood receive a couple of more ministerial portfolios, plus offices in regional administrations, says the paper, adding that the post of the Gegharkunik governor will most probably be reserved for the party. It’s quite possible, adds the paper, that Ara Nranyan will be appointed the minister of finance, while Artsvik Minasyan will head the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs.
