Nagorno-Karabakh president starts visit to UK
A delegation led by President of the Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh) Republic Bako Sahakyan on Tuesday headed to the United Kingdom for an official visit.
On 7 July, the president met with members of the Armenian Community Council in capital London to discuss the possible development of ties between the local Armenians and Artsakh.
Later same day, the head of state met with the representatives of the Armenian Community of Great Britain at London’s St. Yeghichè Armenian Church, reports the Nagorno-Karabakh Presidential Administration’s press service.
In a warm and friendly atmosphere, the briefed the local Armenians on the general situation in the second Armenian republic, its accomplishments and the current developments, as well as responded to the questions raised.
The president praised the Armenian Community of Great Britain for its active role in the life of both the UK and the diaspora, and the historic homeland.
The president thanked the community’s representatives for their patriotism and devotion to the native people.
The meeting was attended also by Armenian Ambassador to the UK Armen Sargsyan, Primate of the Armenian Apostolic Church’s local diocese Bishop Hovakim Manukian, and different government officials.
