Armenia Premier and EEC official discuss intensification of collaboration
The Prime Minister of Armenia, Hovik Abrahamyan, on Monday met with Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) member Sergei Sidorsky, who is also member and minister in charge of the EEC Board on Industry and Agriculture.
Abrahamyan expressed satisfaction with the present-day level of cooperation between the Government of Armenia and the EEC, which is the executive body of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU), and underscored the need for further intensification and expansion of collaboration in several domains.
Sidorsky, for his part, highlighted the necessity for further developing and strengthening cooperation with Armenia within the framework of the EEU. The EEC member also drew attention to the implementation of specific joint economic projects.
In this connection, the interlocutors discussed the avenues for deepening cooperation with Armenia along the lines of the EEU. The parties also gave emphasis to the need for lifting the restrictions in order to increase the trade volume which, in turn, will give a new impetus to increased competition in the EEU single market.
