Changes in Tax Code to ease tax burden for small and medium-sized enterprises – Artsvik Minasyan

Armenia’s Economic Development and Investments Minister Artsvik Minasyan received on Monday USAID Armenia Mission Director Debora Grieser, ministry’s press service reports.

Speaking about projects carried out in the sidelines of USAID-funded More Competitive Private Sector program, Minasyan highlighted the importance of keeping the projects in the focus of the ministry.

He stressed the importance of state support to business which he said will be possible thanks to cooperation with the USAID as well. He also added that new steps are already being undertaken, particularly amendments in the Tax Code are being prepared which will noticeably ease the tax burden for the small and medium-sized enterprises.

USAID Mission Director in her turn stressed the long-lasting and effective cooperation between the agency and the ministry in the spheres of tourism and rural economic development.

During the meeting the parties also spoke about prospects of Armenia’s economic development, priorities. Artsvik Minasyan answered the questions Debora Grieser was interested in and added that the long-lasting goal of the economic policy is to ensure country’s stable development and economic growth.

At the end of the meeting the parties rated high the carried out work and expressed readiness to continue cooperation and raise the efficiency of the implemented projects.
