Russian military base located in Armenia has great role in ensuring Armenia’s security – Eduard Sharmazanov

Vice Chairman of the Armenian National Assembly Eduard Sharmazanov received August 31 Director of Russian Science and Culture Center in Armenia Sergey Ribinski.

During the meeting Sharmazanov highlighted the ancient-long Armenian-Russian friendship, stressing that bilateral relations must develop in all directions, National Assembly press office reports.

“Armenian-Russian allied relations stem from our common traditional value systems,” the NA vice chairman said, adding that today these values are endangered.

“We must protect them with joint efforts. In case of necessity I will come up with legislative initiatives,” Sharmazanov noted.
The NA vice chairman also informed that in October this year international conference dedicated to 75th anniversaries of Kursk and Stalingrad battles will take place in Yerevan.

“Today Russia plays an important role in ensuring Armenia’s security and Russian military base located here has a great role in it too,” Sharmazanov said.

Sergey Ribinski hailed the conduction of the conference and noted that the center headed by him will assist Armenian friends.
During the meeting other issues related to Armenian-Russian relations were discussed.
