Armenia’s NA chairman receives Iran-Armenia parliamentary friendship group members
Chairman of the Armenian National Assembly Ara Babloyan received on Friday members of the Iran-Armenia parliamentary friendship group led by Ramezan Ali Sobhanifari.
Ara Babloyan voiced conviction that the visit will contribute to the further development of Armenian-Iranian inter-parliamentary relations. The head of the Armenian parliament said close, friendly and reliable relations are established between the two countries and stressed that reciprocal visits, bilateral contacts will give new impetus not only to the development of inter-parliamentary ties but boost inter-state relations as well.
In this regard Ara Babloyan rated high the arrangements reached at the 2018 February visit of the Armenian delegation to Iran.
The participants of the meeting also referred to the development of bilateral economic relations, rating high the activity of the Armenian-Iranian inter-governmental commission.
NA chairman stressed that Armenia may be a bridge for Iran-EAEU-Europe trade-economic cooperation.
Head of the friendship group Ramezan Ali Sobhanifari said the Armenian-Iranian century-long friendship is based on historic-cultural commonalities. He also rated high the role of the parliamentary diplomacy in development of inter-state relations.
During the meeting the parties also discussed issues on development of relations in cultural, agricultural spheres, energy sector.
