Creating new gaps is working style of weak, unreliable, supercilious person – ex DM’s response to Yerevan mayoral candidate
Armenia’s Former Defense Minister Vigen Sargysan referred in his Facebook page to the speech of Yerevan mayoral candidate Hayk Marutyan who divided the forces in Armenia into blacks and whites.
Expressing his anger toward the remark, Sargsyan wrote, “Irrespective of the feelings our compatriots may have toward the mistakes of the past or their deep belief toward future, irrespective whether this government will succeed or raise waive of disappointment, no one has right to divide people into blacks and whites,” Sargsyan wrote. “Political figure which is really concerned with the future of the country must spare no effort to create bridges, creating new gaps is working style of weak, unreliable, supercilious person who does not care of people,” the ex minister stressed.
Sargsyan added that there are many people who want to believe Nikol Pashinyan but consider Marutyan’s nomination a mistake. “Many of this people may consider that you does not have enough experience and knowledge to govern the capital. Many may consider the pre-election programs of others more convincing,” Sargsyan wrote.
He noted that there are people who do not share Nikol Pashinyan’s vision of future and have serious restrictions regarding his staff policy and this does not make them black. “This is the essence of democratic public. Thus, what you say is a serious issue regarding consolidation of democratic institutions, spreading of democratic values and conduction of free elections,” Sargsyan stressed, adding that the start of Marutyan’s campaign was so bad that he would better declare about self-withdrawal.
