Economic growth for first six months of 2018 makes 8.3% - Minister
The first six months of 2018 have registered the highest economic growth during the past 8 years making 8.3%, Minister of Economic Development and Investments Artsvik Minasyan told the reporters on Monday.
“The main share of this development – 5.3% - comes to the spheres of trade and service,” the minister noted.
He stressed that the construction grew by 8.9% but influenced the economic growth only by 0.5%, the industry contributed to economic growth by 1.4% and the agriculture by 0.5%.
Minasyan said in January-June the index of economic activity made 9.3%.
Speaking about export volumes, the minister said that over 50% of industrial production is being exported. He said it would have been more if no decline was registered in mine industry sphere. “The decline made 11.8% over 20 billion AMD,” Minasyan said.
