Third person involved in armed attack on ex chairman of Court of Cassation discovered in Georgia
Third person involved in the armed attack on the house of former chairman of Court of Cassation Arman Mkrtumyan in Dzoraghbyur on August 28 has been discovered.
Armenia’s Police in collaboration with Georgia’s Internal Affairs Ministry officials discovered and arrested Gagik Danoyan, 49, in Georgia, police press service reports.
The attack occurred on August 28 at about 10 pm. Three masked and armed people entered the territory of Mkrtumyan’s house and opened fire. One of them, Hovhannes Ryzhenko, 42, was unharmed and detained on the scene. The other two managed to escape.
On August 31 the police found and detained Mayis Mkrtchyan, 33, a police sergeant in Marmarashen village of Ararat province. The officers found Kalashnikov rifle and Makarov gun not far from the village which, according to the preliminary information, were used during the attack.
Currently issue on Danoyan’s extradition is being discussed with the Georgian side.
