I am participating in election to win – Ararat Zurabyan

There is nothing extraordinary in the statement of mayoral candidate of My Step alliance Hayk Marutyan, candidate from “Yerevantsiner” alliance Ararat Zurabyan said at a briefing in the NA on Tuesday.

“Each person found something to use against Hayk Marutyan. A person made a statement, some understood it, some not,” the candidate said.

As to Marutyan’s division to blacks and whites, Zurabyan said, “Each person may take some palette and define everyone according to his will and taste. Let’s be aware of one thing – we are living in a country where we want freedom of speech and when we want to hear it we all cling to something.”

Zurabyan expressed conviction that Marutyan had no intention to offend anyone and made definitions stemming from his ideas.

Asked about their chances at the upcoming Yerevan City Council election, Zurabyan said that the situation is quite favorable for him. “The current candidates are good people acceptable by public but they have lack of experience in this sphere. I have worked in this sphere, I know the issues, I know what to do,” he stressed, adding that though the public is to decide who to vote for.

Asked about possibility to stop the campaign at some phase and join to support other forces, Zurabyan said, “I am participating in the elections to win, and to win the first round.”
