Prices for grape purchase to be reviewed: Agriculture minister meets with farmers
Minister of Agriculture Arthur Khachatryan joined today in Armavir’s governor’s office the farmers protesting against the grape purchasing price.
He said the harvest will be purchased with sensible price and quality. “We expect the payments to be done by the end of December,” he said.
The minister also stressed that meetings will be held with few brandy producing factories and discussions will be held with the government.
The farmers are demanding review of prices paid to them for grape. They claim that initially they were offered 160 drams for a kilo while currently the maximum offered price is 140 AMD.
