USA-based actress Nare Haykazyan invited to work in Armenia

Actress Nare Haykazyan living and working in USA for already 13 years has returned to Armenia at the invitation of Minister of Culture Lilit Makunts. She will work in Gyumri’s Vardan Atchemyan State Theatre of Drama, the actress told Aysor.am.

“We met in the USA, during the minister’s meeting with the Armenian art figures. She was saying that opportunities must be created for return of our art figures. Till now neither of ministers made such proposal to me while I have stated many times that in case of favorable conditions I am ready to return,” the actress said, adding that many of her friends want to return but do not know how.

On September 4 the actress visited the theatre and met with the staff and received warm reception. “People always want to go where they are waited for. It appeared that Gyumri waited for me, and now I am really enjoying being here,” she said.

Besides love toward stage, Nare Haykazyan also loves to paint and now wants to move her works from the USA to Armenia.

Speaking about recent developments in Armenia, the actress said, “I have left the country during very difficult times. Living and working abroad I have not changed. It is very important as contacting with different realities you are merging. It is difficult to avoid it,” she said, adding that now it seems that opportunities for working in the homeland have expanded.
