Baku believes Dan Bilzerian opened fire in direction of Azerbaijani posts: US Charge D’affaires invited to Azerbaijani MFA

Azerbaijan’s Foreign Affairs Ministry handed a protest note to US Charge D’affaires in Azerbaijan William Gill, ministry’s spokesperson Hikmet Hajiyev reported.

“William Gill was invited to Foreign Affairs Ministry where he has been handed a note addressed to the US Department of State relating to illegal trip of US citizen Dan Bilzerian to the Azerbaijani occupied territories,” Hajiyev said.

The Azerbaijani diplomat noted that Gill has been informed that Bilzerian breached the law “About State Border of Azerbaijani Republic”, the Migration Code and “entered the occupied Azerbaijani territories through Armenia, bypassing the checkpoints and not submitting necessary documents.”

Hajiyev also claimed that being in the “occupied territories” Bilzerian propagated illegal regime, illegally acquired weaponry and opened fire toward the Azerbaijani positions. The Azerbaijani diplomat said official Baku expects serious approach from the US side and hopes that the country will undertake necessary steps to warn their citizens against visiting Azerbaijani "occupied territories".

As it has been reported earlier Armenian American millionaire, King of Poker Dan Bilzerian is planning to carry out a wide-scale project in Nagorno Karabakh Republic and visited it with that purpose.

Karabakh’s representative on special assignments, former head of Artsakh’s National Security Service Arshavir Gharamyan posted a photo and video in his Facebook page where Dan Bilzerian was hosted by the servicemen of Karabakh’s NSS.
