168 Zham: Pashinyan-Putin to refer to Kocharyan’s issue – political analyst
“Many note about the tension, crisis in the Armenian-Russian relations while I am not of that opinion and see no reasons for it. I think Moscow slightly trolls Mr Pashinyan but nothing else should be searched in it,” political analyst of “Eco of Caucasus” Vadim Dubnov said in an interview with 168 Zham paper.
According to him, Moscow needs this trolling to keep its face. “The authorities with which Moscow worked for decades have changed in Armenia. The new authorities are trying to apply new principles. Moscow needs to work in its traditional genre, in accordance with its style and continue supporting the previous ones. There is solidarity with the previous team. One of the other reasons is that Pashinyan is not acceptable for many in Moscow, thus they need to troll him,” Dubnov said.
He is also convinced that during Pashinyan-Putin meeting Armenia’s second president Robert Kocharyan’s issue will also be discussed.
“I think consultations will take place in Moscow. May be there are some red lines for Moscow in March 1 case which need to be bypassed. Thus I think Moscow will ask the Armenian side to be more restrained in some episodes,” he told the paper.
