Developments over Armenia’s second president have nothing to do with Armenian-Russian relations – ARF-D MP
The developments over Armenia’s second president Robert Kocharyan should not be viewed in the context of Armenian-Russian relations, ARF-D faction head Armen Rustamyan told the reporters today.
As to the observations that Moscow assists Robert Kocharyan, the MP said he does not have such impression but naturally Russia is a country having direct interests in the region and relations with Armenia have always been in the core of these interests.
Speaking about Russia’s denial to extradite former defense minister Michael Harutyunyan, Rustamyan described it as rather “disturbing”.
“It means Russia openly says it is not delighted with the criminal persecutions in Armenia,” he added.
Nevertheless, Rustamyan said that it should not reflect on Armenian-Russian relations.
