The state refrains from dictating any price to purchasers – Agriculture Minister
Armenia’s Minister of Agriculture Arthur Khachatryan briefed to the PM on the issue of grape purchase prices the farmers are complaining of. He talked to the PM after the meeting with the farmers.
Khachatryan stressed that the farmers have long-term agreement where the lowest price is set 130 AMD.
Asked with what prices it is possible to purchase grape, the minister said that the state refrains from dictating any price.
“The state refrains from dictating any price to purchasers. Our issue is to create bridges between them and help formation of mutually acceptable price,” he noted.
The farmers were conducting protest actions for few days demanding review of grape purchase prices. They claim that they have been promised 160 AMD for a kilo while the purchasers claim that they cannot pay more than 140 AMD.
